
Jean-Louis Legault
Graduated in 1979 from the Collège de Maisonneuve in Montreal in electrical engineering, he was technically responsible at the Olympic Park and Air Canada before founding Servtrotech in June 1983, which became Daktronics Canada in January 2001. Daktronics Canada is now a subsidiary of Daktronics, a global leader in digital LED displays used in particular for the new HD screens at the Bell Centre and those of the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City.
Mr. Legault was also the initiator and co-owner of the buildings comprising the real estate project of Carrefour de la nouvelle économie de Terrebonne, started in 2000 and now has five phases for the APL Group.
Having left the presidency of Daktronics Canada in May 2009, he is still involved in many fundraising campaign firms, corporate boards, including those chaired by the governing board of the Professional Training Centre des Moulins, the regional Committee niches of excellence ACCORD Lanaudière, industrial and experimental Centre of l’Assomption and Fond d’investissement FIER des Moulins and palliative home care Adhemar Dion. Aviator, musician and browser at his times, Mr. Legault is also intensely involved at the social level and was awarded the Medal of the National Assembly in 2006 for his volunteer work in the community.
Mr. Legault has also provided coaching to entrepreneurs for various typea of SME businesses operating in sectors as diverse as microelectronics, mechanics, distribution, and was a business mentor accredited for the foundation of entrepreneurship.
For the SPVM Foundation, he climbed, in September 2009, the 5895 meters of Mount Kilimanjaro. Motivated by his passion to actively contribute to the social and economic enrichment of Quebec, he accepted, from July 2010, the management of the Association pour le développement de la recherche et de l’innovation du Québec (ADRIQ) as CEO.
